Recipe: Cinnamon Oats

Cinnamon Oats 125 ml oats (or gluten free oats) 250 ml water 5 ml cinnamon 15 ml slivered almonds 1 small apple (chopped into very small pieces, peel still on) A little bit of milk

Cinnamon Oats

  • 125 ml oats (or gluten free oats)
  • 250 ml water
  • 5 ml cinnamon
  • 15 ml slivered almonds
  • 1 small apple (chopped into very small pieces, peel still on)
  • A little bit of milk for serving (optional)
  1. Place the oats and water in a pot and cook until the oats are soft and most of the liquid has disappeared

  2. You can also do this using a microwave – follow the instructions printed on the packaging

  3. Mix in the oats and almonds

  4. Add the apple and mix well

  5. Dish into bowls and add some milk if desired

Tip: Oats is high in fibre which helps to lower your cholesterol levels, and it will also keep you full for quite some time. To decrease the fat content of this meal even more, use skim milk instead of low fat milk, and to up the protein content you can add some sesame seeds or linseeds.
