Last week I shared my favourite bread recipe. This week I’m sharing my super easy and tasty rustic No Knead Bread!

Momma Jo’s No Knead Bread

I make this bread dough before I go to bed at night and bake it in the morning

  • 750 ml flour (you can use either all purpose flour or bread flour (I prefer all purpose))
  • 8 g instant yeast
  • 15 ml white sugar
  • 15 ml salt
  • 375 ml water
  1. In a large bowl, add the flour

  2. On opposite sides of the bowl, add the yeast, sugar and salt (do not put the salt on top of the yeast) and mix well

  3. Make a well in the centre of the bowl and add the water

  4. With a fork, gently mix until all the flour has been incorporated and a dough is formed

  5. Cover with plastic wrap and leave for 8 – 12 hours

  6. Preheat the oven to 220°C

  7. Line the loaf pan with baking paper

  8. Sprinkle flour on top of the dough and gently work it out the bowl directly into the loaf pan

  9. The dough will be extremely sticky

  10. Do not work this dough as it will not rise

  11. Bake for 35 – 40 min

  12. Remove from the pan and let cool completely before cutting (approximately 2 hours)

The loaf will sound hollow if you tap it on the bottom once it is fully baked
