Recipe: Momma Jo's Garlic and Herb No Knead Bread
This week I’m sharing a spin on my no knead bread recipe. This bread is divine!

Momma Jo’s Garlic & Herb No Knead Bread

  • 750  ml flour (you can use either all purpose flour or bread flour (I prefer all purpose))
  • 8 g instant yeast
  • 15 ml white sugar
  • 15 ml salt
  • 30 ml garlic powder
  • 30 ml dried parsley
  • 375 ml water
  1. In a large bowl, add the flour

  2. On opposite sides of the bowl, add the yeast, sugar and salt (do not put the salt on top of the yeast) and mix well

  3. Add the garlic powder and parsley, mix well

  4. Make a well in the centre of the bowl and add the water

  5. With a fork, gently mix until all the flour has been incorporated and a dough is formed

  6. Cover with plastic wrap and leave for 8 – 12 hours

  7. Preheat the oven to 220°C

  8. Line the loaf pan with baking paper

  9. Sprinkle flour on top of the dough and gently work it out the bowl directly into the loaf pan

  10. The dough will be extremely sticky

  11. Do not work this dough as it will not rise

  12. Bake for 35 – 40 min

  13. Remove from the pan and let cool completely before cutting (approximately 2 hours)

  • The loaf will sound hollow if you tap it on the bottom once it is fully baked
  • Add a cup of grated cheese to the top of the loaf before baking to add a little extra flavour
