This week I’m sharing a spin on my no knead bread recipe. This bread is divine!
Momma Jo’s Garlic & Herb No Knead Bread
- 750 ml flour (you can use either all purpose flour or bread flour (I prefer all purpose))
- 8 g instant yeast
- 15 ml white sugar
- 15 ml salt
- 30 ml garlic powder
- 30 ml dried parsley
- 375 ml water

In a large bowl, add the flour

On opposite sides of the bowl, add the yeast, sugar and salt (do not put the salt on top of the yeast) and mix well

Add the garlic powder and parsley, mix well

Make a well in the centre of the bowl and add the water

With a fork, gently mix until all the flour has been incorporated and a dough is formed

Cover with plastic wrap and leave for 8 – 12 hours

Preheat the oven to 220°C

Line the loaf pan with baking paper

Sprinkle flour on top of the dough and gently work it out the bowl directly into the loaf pan

The dough will be extremely sticky

Do not work this dough as it will not rise
-
Bake for 35 – 40 min

Remove from the pan and let cool completely before cutting (approximately 2 hours)
- The loaf will sound hollow if you tap it on the bottom once it is fully baked
- Add a cup of grated cheese to the top of the loaf before baking to add a little extra flavour
