This week I’m sharing a spin on my no knead bread recipe. This bread is divine!
Momma Jo's Garlic & Herb No Knead Bread
Servings: 1 loaf
Ingredients
- 750 ml flour you can use either all purpose flour or bread flour (I prefer all purpose)
- 8 g instant yeast
- 15 ml white sugar
- 15 ml salt
- 30 ml garlic powder
- 30 ml dried parsley
- 375 ml water
Instructions
- In a large bowl, add the flour
- On opposite sides of the bowl, add the yeast, sugar and salt (do not put the salt on top of the yeast) and mix well
- Add the garlic powder and parsley, mix well
- Make a well in the centre of the bowl and add the water
- With a fork, gently mix until all the flour has been incorporated and a dough is formed
- Cover with plastic wrap and leave for 8 - 12 hours
- Preheat the oven to 220°C
- Line the loaf pan with baking paper
- Sprinkle flour on top of the dough and gently work it out the bowl directly into the loaf pan
- The dough will be extremely sticky
- Do not work this dough as it will not rise
- Bake for 35 - 40 min
- Remove from the pan and let cool completely before cutting (approximately 2 hours)
Notes
- The loaf will sound hollow when you tap it on the bottom once it is fully baked
- Add a cup of grated cheese to the top of the loaf before baking to add a little extra flavour
