Recipe: Chickpea Mash

Chickpea Mash 4 medium potatoes (boiled ) 2 cans chickpeas (rinsed and drained) 1 heaped tsp wholegrain mustard 1 tbsp chopped chives or coriander Water (as much as necessary to reach the desired consistency) 1

Chickpea Mash

  • 4 medium potatoes (boiled )
  • 2 cans chickpeas (rinsed and drained)
  • 1 heaped tsp wholegrain mustard
  • 1 tbsp chopped chives or coriander
  • Water (as much as necessary to reach the desired consistency)
  • 1 tbsp plain low fat yoghurt (optional)
  1. Mash the potatoes and chickpeas in a bowl

  2. Add some water if necessary

  3. Mix in the mustard and herbs

  4. If you eat yoghurt, add it to make the texture a bit more creamy

Tip: you can even add some nuts or seeds to this mash. Try something like linseeds which won’t change the taste of the dish but are a great source of omega-3 fatty acids.
