Warm Quinoa

  • 200–250 g quinoa
  • 250 ml milk (extra for serving)
  • 250 ml water
  • ½ banana (chopped)
  • 1 small apple (chopped (keep peel on))
  1. Add the milk, water and quinoa to a saucepan

  2. Bring to the boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for about 10 -15 minutes, or until all the liquid has been absorbed

  3. Dish into bowls and add some milk if desired

  4. Add the banana and apple and mix well

  5. Sprinkle cinnamon over it, or add a drizzle of honey if you wish

Serve with: cinnamon for a sweet smell, and honey if you want a sweeter taste.

Tip: Quinoa is very low in fat and also a good carbohydrate option for other meals such as dinner. To decrease the fat content of this meal even more, use skim milk instead of low fat milk.
