Steak & Beer

  • 4 sirloin or club steaks
  • 2 cloves garlic (crushed)
  • 125 ml beer
  • 30 ml dark brown sugar
  • 30 ml worcestershire sauce
  • 15 ml oil
  • 15 ml black peppercorns (crushed)
  1. Place steaks in a dish and add the garlic, beer, sugar, Worcestershire sauce and oil

  2. Turn to coat evenly and marinade in the fridge for 2 – 3 hours

  3. Remove steaks from the dish and reserve the marinade

  4. Sprinkle peppercorns onto the steaks and press them in firmly

  5. Leave steaks to attain room temperature

  6. Cook steaks on a hot grill until done to your liking, basting them occasionally with the reserved marinade

  7. Cut the steaks into bite-size pieces, pour remaining marinade over

  8. Serve with mashed potatoes
